The Small Manufacturers Association (SMA) is dedicated to supporting the next generation of skilled professionals who will strengthen our manufacturing community and drive innovation forward. Through the SMA Scholarship Program, we help students pursue education and training that build the foundation for successful manufacturing careers.

Building Skills for Tomorrow’s Workforce

SMA scholarships are designed to encourage students who are passionate about advancing their education in technical fields, engineering, business, or other disciplines that contribute to a strong manufacturing sector. By investing in education, SMA supports the long-term growth and sustainability of small manufacturers across Connecticut, New England and beyond.

Who Can Apply

The SMA Scholarship is open to:

  • Employees of SMA member companies
  • Immediate family members of SMA member company employees

Applicants must be:

  • Graduating from high school and planning to attend, or
  • Currently attending an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university

Award Details

Each SMA Scholarship provides a minimum of $1,000 to support educational expenses. SMA partners with the Connecticut Community Foundation, which administers the scholarship program, and we are proud to have supported students to train and learn new manufacturing skills – allowing them to build careers, innovate industry and advance our manufacturing community.
