W.F. Kaynor Technical High School has a rich tradition of serving the Greater Waterbury area for over fifty years. We are dedicated to providing our students with an education that combines rigorous academic study and the excitement of learning a technology.
The dual education allows our students, upon graduation, the opportunity to go onto college or have the skills necessary for immediate employment. We want our students college-ready and able to graduate with a skill. We have a long list of successful graduates in colleges as well as many graduates working in area businesses. We have alumni who are doctors, lawyers, company presidents, scientists, teachers and a mayor who benefited from this unique educational experience.
Since we take students from nine surrounding towns, we consider our school a magnet school that offers something unique and distinctive from the traditional high school setting. We have 11 trade areas for students to choose, these include the production trades of carpentry, electrical and plumbing; the service trades of hairdressing, culinary, automotive, autobody and fashion; and technical trades like electronics, drafting and manufacturing.
“Since 1892, Ward Leonard has worked hard to build a reputation as being a trusted name in powering the defense industry. This trust within the market is not possible without the continued hard work, commitment, and dedication of our team who respect the importance of what we do and the impact it has on the servicemen and women.
We embrace our core values in everything that we do, and continue to live up to the strictest standards from both within the company and the military. We are honored to continue to partner with, and serve, the military.”

“Founded in 1938 by Raymond E. Drouin, The Waterbury Screw Machine Products Company has been family owned and operated for four generations.
The original plant was located in Cheshire, CT. By 1947, the company expanded and relocated to its current location along the Naugatuck River in Waterbury. The facility was destroyed during the infamous “Flood of 1955,” but through the passion and hard work of its employees, the company survived. The current 13,000 square foot facility was completed by 1964 and has remained virtually unchanged ever since, just like our dedication to quality.”
“Our diverse customer base covers a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, circuit breakers, electronics, firearms, writing instruments, door openers, computers, medical, fasteners, switches, and many more. Several of our customers have been with us for more than forty years as a result of their appreciation of our quality and expanding products and services.
When we celebrated our 50th year in 1999, we reiterated our commitment to our customers as our quality system became registered to ISO-9002 standards. The standard has continually been upgraded, in 2018 our current certification is in accordance with the standards of ISO 9001-2015.
With approximately 12,500 square feet our plant houses our CNC and Swiss Machinery together with our array of Secondary Equipment as well as our Quality Control Operations (please refer to our equipment list which will elaborate on the detail of this machinery). Our patents for the screw machine stop-spindle attachment and rapid-index assembly offer our Swiss Machines expanded and diverse capability. Waterbury Swiss holds strong and close alliances with Fourslide Spring & Stamping (a certified minority enterprise), Davenport, CNC Machining and Milling / EDM, Brown & Sharpe, and Escomatic facilities. Through these alliances, we are able to meet a wide array of sizes and materials of your part needs from prototype to live production.
Our pricing remains competitive as we continue to grow. With our hands-on engineering team, where our tooling and programming are performed in-house, we promise a quick turnaround on any quote requests and subsequent fulfillment of orders.”

Passion for people and business, Lori Theriault has developed a program that helps people build resumes of passion, not just experience.
This program allows students of all ages to experience the best personal and career inspiration that is packed into a single session.
Work It! trains up to 10,000 students each year. We inspire students to dream, create and capture their career path allowing them to do what they love today versus waiting until tomorrow.
Throughout her career, she had often observed many adults who were just working to exist. Many had stopped dreaming of their perfect job leading them down a dark path of health issues and relationship issues.
Lori created the Work It! program bringing, 30 years of business and diverse career experience that includes management in Manufacturing, Real Estate, Agriculture and Construction along with the Skilled Trades Industry, so that she can help students at a young age harness their interests in these fields.
We hope to see you soon!
